From there, he goes over the queen support mates, which show what careful piece coordination can accomplish, especially when one of those pieces being coordinated is the most powerful piece on the board! The Swiss Cheese checkmates offer key examples of how to prey upon color-complex weaknesses, while the Smothered mates (a fan favorite!) show that even a crowd of defenders around a king can be a crucial liability to exploit if they crowd around too tightly. Finally, through an analysis of the Arabian mate, you will see the potency of rook and knight coordination, and a pattern that just happens to be at the heart of some of the most exciting finishes in chess!
